African Black Soap All-Over Body Wash
– Traditionally made in Ghana, West Africa where
it is known as Alata Samina, black soap is a natural
cleanser for body, face, and hair. The basic recipe
is centuries old, and has been handed down over the
generations with slight variations in ingredients depending
on what is locally available and the preference of the
maker. Quench’s version is made from cocoa pods
dried under the hot African sun and then roasted in
a clay oven. The roasting time of the cocoa pods determines
the color of the soap. Next, the roasted pods are mixed
with coconut oil to create a nourishing and gentle soap
with naturally antiseptic properties. The cocoa pods
make the soap particularly good for sensitive skins;
the pods are rich in vitamins A and E. Black Soap is
especially recommended for young, mature and tender
skin and is prized for its antiseptic properties. Our
gentle Black Soap All-Over Body Wash will leave your
skin and hair smooth and soft without any chemicals,
fragrances, or preservatives.

Shea Butter Oil All-Over Body Moisturizer -
Shea Butter Oil is shea butter fractionated into
stearin and olein to create shea oil. Shea butter is
a slightly greenish natural fat extracted from fruit
of the Shea tree by crushing and boiling. Shea butter
is known for its cosmetic properties as a moisturizer
and emollient and is a known anti-inflammatory agent.
Shea butter has also been said to be effective at treating
fading scars, eczema, burns, rashes, severely dry skin,
blemishes, dark spots, skin discolorations, stretch
marks and wrinkles. Shea butter provides natural UV
sun protection although the level of protection is extremely
variable, ranging from none at all to approximately
SPF3, and should not be relied on. Shea oil can be found
in very high end cosmetic and skin care products and
is often used on its own or in lotions, body scrub,
and hair oil formulations.
